Summer Has Arrived (and She’s Wearing Flip-Flops)

This morning felt different—and I had to tell you about it.

I stepped outside with my coffee, and for the first time in what felt like forever… the sun was warm.

The rain had finally passed. The wildflowers we planted last year were pushing through the soil like they knew it was safe to show up again. Birds were going wild. The breeze smelled like new beginnings.

Just like that, summer had quietly arrived in the Pocono Mountains.

If you’ve never experienced this time of year here, you’re missing something magical. The lakes are still and glassy. The trails are bursting with green. The beaches and pools are open. Neighbors are trickling back in with kayaks and coolers.

And our cozy cabins at Sojourn? They’re starting to fill.

But there’s still space—if you want it.

What Summer Looks Like at Sojourn

Picture this:

  • A quiet morning with coffee on the porch

  • A cool breeze through open windows

  • A nap after swimming in the lake

  • Laughter around the fire at night

  • No emails. No stress. Just space to breathe again.

Whether you're booking a romantic cabin rental in the Poconos, a weekend reset, or just a place where you can finally finish your book—this is your sign.

Meet Alfie (Our Cabin Pup-in-Training 🐾)

Alfie is our 3-month-old Golden Retriever—and he’s already doubled in size, learned to sit, stay, and politely ask to go outside. He hasn’t made his Sojourn debut just yet, but we have no doubt he’ll fall in love with the lake, the trails, and the smell of grilled steaks like our guests do.

Got a pup of your own? We’re proud to be a pet-friendly cabin rental in the Pocono Mountains. Dogs are always welcome here.

A Father’s Day Note (and an Idea)

This time of year also makes me think about the dads and grandpas who quietly shaped me.

My dad wasn’t the speech-giving type. He was gentle, steady, and endlessly kind. When I was in college, buried in finals, he’d quietly set down a plate of fruit—beautifully sliced, perfectly arranged. That was his way of saying, "I see you. I love you. You’ve got this."

And my grandpa? He could do it all—build a house, plant a garden, cook a perfect meal, and still do handstands just to make me laugh. He taught me to swim, to try again, and to never take life too seriously.

They both taught me that love doesn’t have to be loud to be strong.

So if you’ve got someone like that in your life—or you are someone like that—maybe this is the summer to say thank you. Not with a tie. Not with a gadget. But with time, quiet, and a view of the trees.
