Summer Has Arrived (and She’s Wearing Flip-Flops)

Updated: Apr 11

# Embrace the Magic of Summer in the Pocono Mountains

This morning felt different—and I had to tell you about it.

I stepped outside with my coffee, and for the first time in what felt like forever, the sun was warm. The rain had finally passed. The wildflowers we planted last year were pushing through the soil as if they knew it was safe to show up again. Birds were chirping joyfully. The breeze carried the scent of new beginnings.

Just like that, summer had quietly arrived in the Pocono Mountains.

If you’ve never experienced this time of year here, you’re missing something truly magical. The lakes sparkle, calm and glassy. The trails burst with vibrant greenery. The beaches and pools are open, welcoming everyone back. Neighbors are trickling in with kayaks and coolers ready for fun.

And our cozy cabins at Sojourn? They’re starting to fill.

But there’s still space—if you want it.

What Summer Looks Like at Sojourn

Picture this:

  • A quiet morning with coffee on the porch.

  • A cool breeze flowing through open windows.

  • A nap after swimming in the lake.

  • Laughter around the fire at night.

  • No emails. No stress. Just space to breathe again.

Whether you're booking a romantic cabin rental in the Poconos, a weekend reset, or just a place where you can finally finish your book—this is your sign.

Finding Your Perfect Retreat

Summer offers a variety of experiences that rejuvenate the soul. You can spend leisurely days lounging by the lake or explore woodland trails. Spotting wildlife adds a thrill to every hike. Take advantage of our cozy cabins, ideal for couples, families, or friends.

Our kitchen facilities provide an opportunity to bond over meals cooked together. Imagine a family barbecue or a breakfast feast. Sharing laughter over good food creates lasting memories.

Join us at Sojourn, where everyone is welcomed to unwind in the beauty of nature.

Meet Alfie (Our Cabin Pup-in-Training 🐾)

Meet Alfie, our 3-month-old Golden Retriever! He has already doubled in size, learned to sit, and stay. He’s also polite enough to ask to go outside. Although Alfie hasn’t made his Sojourn debut yet, I know he will soon be frolicking by the lake, exploring the trails, and enjoying the aroma of grilled steaks just like our guests.

Have a pup of your own? We’re proud to be a pet-friendly cabin rental in the Pocono Mountains. Dogs are always welcome here!

A Father’s Day Note (and an Idea)

This time of year makes me think of the dads and grandpas who quietly shaped my life. My dad wasn’t the type to give grand speeches. He was gentle, steady, and endlessly kind. When I was buried in finals during college, he would quietly leave a beautifully arranged plate of fruit on the table. That was his way of saying, "I see you. I love you. You’ve got this."

And my grandpa? He was a man of many talents. He could build a house, plant a garden, and cook a perfect meal—while still doing handstands to make me laugh. He taught me to swim, try again when I failed, and never take life too seriously.

They both showed me that love doesn’t have to be loud to be strong.

So, if you’ve got someone special in your life—or you are someone like that—maybe this summer is the time to say thank you. Not with a tie or a gadget, but with your time, quiet moments, and a view of the trees.

Your June Bucket List from the Mountains

As the summer unfolds, don’t miss these simple pleasures:

  • Watch fireflies dance over the lake.

  • Enjoy coffee outside in the morning.

  • Allow your kids to play freely and stay up late.

  • Spend extra time hugging your loved ones.

  • Do absolutely nothing—and love every moment of it.

  • Teach your pup how to fetch in the woods.

  • Grill delicious meals in the evening.

  • Stay up just late enough to witness the stars.
